>> View ClimbThis is a great beginner climb that will provide everyone with spectacular views and great mountaineering experience. This is a single day climb, but you will need to use crampons and an ice axe to summit. Instruction will be provided on how to use each. This is one of the most fun climbs in the North Cascades that is still achievable by the average hiker.
>> View ClimbParticipants will compete in the 2011 Great Wall Marathon on top of the Great Wall of China. This event is to be organized by the folks at Adventure Marathons, but we encourage you to run for a cause.
This event takes the elite toughness of a marathoner and combines it with the strength and stamina of a mountain climber. If you think you have what it takes, sign up below and we will contact you with more details on this exciting opportunity.
We encourage you to watch this video for more information.
Join Matt in celebrating the Steelers potential 7th Super Bowl victory. Between now and kickoff of the Super Bowl on Feb 6th, Matt will match all donations to this event dollar for dollar.
Each donation of $77 or more will be invited to his house for a special event where he will open a SEVEN year vertical of wine from Chateau Montelena (1984-1990).
This intermediate climb is up Mt. Rainier's south face following the Camp Muir route. The climb will last 3 days and will be led by the great guides at Alpine Ascents. Beginners are welcome, but just remember that this is a VERY strenuous climb and it should not be taken lightly. Climbers should be able to carry a 50 lbs back pack for 7 hours up to Camp Muir on day one.
>> View ClimbJoin famed climber and accomplished guide, Zoe Hart as she leads a small team of accomplished climbers up Monte Rosa and the legendary Eiger.
We will be climbing Monte Rosa and other easy acclimization routes in Zermatt, Switzerland. Monte Rosa is the second tallest mountain in Western Europe. After a nice 2 day climb, we will head over to Lauterbrunen to attempt a southern route up the Eiger. The southern route is much more approachable then the deadly northern route.
We will be staying in alpine huts while climbing. This is an advanced climb that will require some rock climbing skills as well as advanced mountaineering skills. Climbers who wish to participate must be able to demonstrate previous climbing experience.
Join us as we scale one of Washington's most photographed peaks. This is an intermediate climb and is a great stepping stone to climbing more difficult peaks like Mt. Rainier.

>> View ClimbMt. Hood is a great intermediate climb found just over the border in Oregon. Some previous mountaineering experience is necessary, as you will be required to use ice axes, crampons and ropes. However, this is a very fun overnight climb and camping is not necessary!
>> View ClimbJoin Aaron Seaman, cameraman from the recent Mt. Rainier Climb For Kids summit, as he attempts to climb Mt. Hood. This climb is an intermediate climb, so you should have some mountaineering experience under your belt before participating. A summit of Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier, or Mt. Adams (or the equivalent) is really necessary.

We are fortunate that Ursus Films will be filming a documentary on this climb. It should be a climb to remember!

Climb For Kids is thoroughly excited to take our cause overseas to Europe. This year you can climb the majestic Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe while raising money for a great cause. We will begin our trek with 3 days of acclimatization training followed by 3 days of climbing. The climbing will be European Alps style, so we will be sleeping and eating in huts. No extra gear is required, as we will pack light and climb fast.
This climb is led by an American ex-pat Zoe Hart. She is only the fourth American woman to become IFMGAcertified which is the highest level of credential available to a professional mountain guide anywhere in the world. Originally from New Jersey, you can read more about Zoe on her Alpine Princess blog.
Do you want to help Climb For Kids, but you are just a beginner in the mountains? Well, we have the adventure created especially for you. Ruth Mountain, located in North Cascades Nation Park is a climb that can be easily accomplished in a single day. The climb will provide a opportunity to use your crampons as well as ice axe, and depending on the snow, there may be small rock scrambling as well.
This climb is to be led by experienced outdoor enthusiast, Michelle Maislen.
Spend a day climbing two of the more majestic 14,000 ft peaks in the Colorado Rockies - Torreys and Grays Peak. This is a beginner non-technical climb that is fun and yet still physically challenging.
This climb is to be led by experienced climber and past CFK participant Chad Behling. This is a single day climb that is easily accessible from the Denver area.

Let's all get together for an afternoon of wine tasting. I'll scour my cellar for some great and unusual wine. Leonetti, Chateau Montelena, Rubicon Estate are all on the docket, plus some special surprises. If you like great wine, stop by, throw in a few bucks and help others who really need it. I'll probably make some food, and if it's nice, I might BBQ as well.
If you have wine you want to donate to the event, let me know. The more the merrier.
Donate what you can. Suggested donation is $10, but if you do $25, your company will probably match it. Feel free to pay via credit card below, or just bring some money to the event.
Event will be held at my house at 1pm. Click on this link to find it.
You can sign up by donating to the Wine Climber below!
August 25-27 we attempted to climb up the South face of Mt. Rainier following the Camp Muir route. This climb was led by the great guides at Alpine Ascents. Snow over took our attempt and we didn't reach the summit. You can view photos from the event here and here.
